How we work

Four operating principles that every team member — and every partner — signs onto on day one.

Locally led.

Every country office is staffed and led by people who live there. No parachuting in solutions from Nairobi.

Radically transparent.

Our financials, partner agreements, and impact data are public. Every shilling is traceable to a community outcome.

Patient funding.

We commit 3-year minimum grants to community partners — long enough to see impact, not just outputs.

Ubuntu spirit.

“I am because we are.” Our work is rooted in the African philosophy of interconnected humanity.

We hire locally. We promote from within. We pay above-market. If our operating principles fit yours, we'd love to hear from you.
